How to Use Fabuloso on Carpets

1. Pour Fabuloso on Stained Areas of the Carpet 

The first step is to remove as much of the stains as possible by blotting them with a dry paper towel, be careful not to smear and spread the stain to clean areas.

Since carpets are made of various materials, we recommend doing a patch test on a small inconspicuous part of the carpet to test if Fabuloso works well. If you are satisfied with the result, pour a small amount of Fabuloso on the stain on the carpet. Avoid pouring too much product on the stain.

2. Knead Using a Cloth Until The Stain Is Removed

The next step is to place a clean cloth over the stained areas that have been covered by Fabuloso. You will need to knead the cloth into the carpet with your hands to remove the dirt and stains effectively.

We recommend using a colorfast cloth so that you don’t accidentally stain the carpet. Once the stain has been lifted, proceed to the next step. If some dirt or residue still remains, pour some more Fabuloso onto the carpet and repeat this step. 

3. Spray the Carpet with Water

Next, rinse away excess product from the carpet so that it doesn’t leave a sticky residue. Using water with a small spray bottle is the most convenient way to do this. 

We then recommend blotting the area with a clean, dry cloth or using the same cloth used for cleaning the stain after having rinsed it. Repeat the process until all residue of Fabuloso has been cleaned from the carpet.  

4. Dry the Carpet Using a Cloth

The last step of the cleaning process is to dry the carpet using a dry cloth. Blot with a paper towel or dry cloth until relatively dry and leave it to air dry. This step will take some time but will leave your carpet looking and smelling as good as new. 

Alternatives for Cleaning Carpets Effectively

Dedicated Carpet Cleaner

Using an off-the-shelf carpet cleaner is always going to be the most effective solution, as they are formulated to remove tough spots on rugs and carpets. If you are looking for a dedicated instant carpet spot remover, we recommend using the Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover, or anything similar.

This water-based carpet cleaner is petroleum-free and safe to use around pets and children. Dedicated carpet cleaners are an excellent solution for cleaning grease, oil, ink, coffee, rust, cosmetics residue, dirt, grime, and any pet waste. 

Simply spray the product onto the stain and blot it with a clean, dry cloth. Carpet cleaners are convenient to use and don’t require any rinsing or vacuuming.

Vinegar Solution 

Vinegar is one of the most effective household products that can be used for cleaning and deodorizing carpets. It is a highly convenient and cost-effective solution that can be used to remove tough stains. 

Simply mix one cup of distilled white vinegar with one cup of water and spray it onto the stained or grimy parts of your carpet. Let the solution sit for a few minutes before dabbing the solution away with a clean cloth. 

If you want to be a bit more creative, you can mix vinegar with Fabuloso for great results. Simply add 1-2 tablespoons of Fabuloso to a mix of one cup of distilled white vinegar with one cup of water.

Then, pour this cleaning solution into a spray bottle and use it for cleaning carpets or other surfaces in your house. Simply wipe away after spraying or blot away excess with a dry cloth.

Baking Soda 

Baking soda is another excellent household product that can be used to clean carpets. If you have not used baking soda on your carpet before, we recommend doing a patch test to check the color-fastness of your carpet.

Do this by mixing ½ tablespoon of baking soda in ½ cup of water, and pouring a small amount on an inconspicuous part of the carpet. After that, let it dry naturally.

If you are satisfied with the results, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda onto the stain. Wet a cloth with hot water and wring out the excess water so that the cloth is damp but not dripping with water. 

Place it onto the baking soda on the stain and let it sit for at least three hours. The longer you leave it, the more the baking soda can absorb. Remove the cloth and dry the area to see the final results. If the stain persists, repeat the process.

Shaving Cream 

Another method of cleaning your carpet is to use non-gel shaving cream. Shaving creams can lift stains from your carpet and leave it looking as good as new. We recommend using only white shaving cream on your carpet to avoid discoloration.

For this process, apply a thick layer of shaving cream (about ½ of an inch) on the carpet stain. Let the product soak for at least 20 minutes or until it completely dissolves.  

Blot away the stain with a dampened sponge and repeat until all the shaving cream has been removed. Pat the area dry with a cloth and let your carpet air dry.
